Rinkel Film & TV produces feature films, cross media and TV with clear genres and target audiences, both mainstream and art house. We build long lasting track records with new and established talent. Close cooperation of the triangle team of producer, writer and director is crucial in Rinkel Film’s development strategy. Our productions vary from mainstream book adaptations, police thrillers to auteur driven art house productions. Rinkel can access in house post production facilities.
Edwin van Meurs
Edwin van Meurs, graduated at the Free Univesity of Amsterdam in law in 1984 and started his career as a banker. In 1988 he left the AMRO bank and started working forBlue Horse Productions as general manager and producer. Between 1988 and 1995 Edwin van Meurs produced more than 150 episodes of comedy and TV-drama. In 1995 he founded his own production company,in which he developed a number of new formats and drama series. In 2002, Edwin van Meurs and Reinier Selen decided to combine their activities.
Reinier Selen
Producer Reinier Selen graduated as a documentary director. He founded Rinkel Film in 1997 with the successful children’s short the Bicycle. Subsequently he researched, developed and produced the multiple award winning thriller Godforsaken (director Pieter Kuijpers), which rated amongst the top 10box office hits. In the following years he developed and produced 9 one of dramas for Public TV, the high concept crime series Access Denied for TALPA and 3 feature films: Off Screen (director Pieter Kuijpers), Blood Brothers (dir Arno Dierickx) and English spoken Nothing Personal (Dir Urszula Antoniak; lead cast Stephen Rea). Currently, the comedy series Floor Faber is in production for NET5, featuring Georgina Verbaan.
Selen is a member of the Dutch Producers Association (NVS) and member of the EAVE network. In 2007 he was Jury Member for the Dutch Film Festival. European Film Promotion selected Selen as 2008’s Dutch Producer on the Move.
